Org. Setting and Reporting The Systems Analyst Programmer reports to the Head, Applications Development and Support Section.

Responsibilities Performs systems analysis on requirements received from the Business Service Management (BSM) Section either on new application requests or on changes to existing applications, participates in converting these into technical specifications and designs, and takes part in their development and implementation.

Performs analysis on support requests, issues and incidents received, suggests solutions and takes part in implementing suggested and approved solutions.

Carries out development and maintenance tasks on application(s) to which assigned following Agile methodologies and standard automation platforms.

Develops and implements detailed system documentation as assigned by the supervisor and maintains these in the automated document repositories.

Coordinates outsourcing arrangements with vendors including monitoring of performance, reporting and recommending corrective actions when needed.

Coordinates with Fields on issues related to software applications including maintaining an inventory of Field-developed applications, verification and certification of applications developed in the Fields, and re-use of these applications.

Education- A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science or a related field.

- Formal training in SDLC methodologies, especially Agile and in web/mobile development.

Job - Specific Qualification- Formal training in SDLC methodologies, especially Agile and in web/mobile development.

Work Experience At least five years of relevant work experience in the area of software applications development and implementation .

Two years of proven experience in automating one of the functional or service areas UNRWA is active in (refugee registration, relief & social services, education, health management, ERP solutions, etc.).

Experience in Business systems and data analysis, in addition to Application development using MS .Net Framework over RDBMS especially MS SQL, SDLC automation tools, and Office productivity tools.

Knowledge or experience in implementing ERP system or complex multi-functional application systems (desirable)

Experience or knowledge of testing automation tools and DevOps platforms (desirable).

Languages Very good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice Type of Contract and duration: Fixed-term appointment of 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.

The Systems Analyst Programmer Officer may be required to travel frequently in the Agency's area of operations.
