Overview

You have:

  • A first university degree, Bachelor, in engineering or equivalent, is required.
  • At least 7 years of work experience with assignments in developing countries and/or transition economies within an international organization, is required.
  • Fluency written and oral Arabic is required.
  • Knowledge of English is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

The projects includes the installation and configuration of the latest national IT date centres at Customs which support the implementation of ASYCUDA. These data centres will house hardware and networking equipment to ensure the smooth running of the systems for all users nationwide. Under the general supervision of the project officer, UNCTAD ASYCUDA Regional Coordinator, and in collaboration with the project officer in Baghdad, the consultant will undertake the following duties: - Supervise the deployment of the customs data center equipment to be installed in national data centers in Baghdad and Beirut. - Assist in the configuration and testing of the network equipment to migrate the direct connection between Customs/ASYCUDA servers' room and National Data Centres(NDC)/ASYCUDA VMs through the government secure networks. - Transfer and boost the knowledge to customs national team to successfully maintain the national customs network and data centers.

Qualifications/special skills
