Result of Service The individual contractor will be ultimately be responsible of making sure the CCA is updated according to the inputs of all agencies and the RCO.

Duties and Responsibilities One of the key roles of the RCO is the preparation of the UN Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development. A key step in this process is the preparation of a Common Country Assessment (CCA), which is subsequently updated on an annual basis.

Morocco’s CCA has been developed in 2021. It is the UN system's independent, impartial and collective assessment (description of a country's situation) and analysis (description of causes and their implications) of a country's situation. It examines progress, gaps, opportunities and bottlenecks in relation to a country's commitments to achieve the 2030 Agenda, UN norms and standards, and the principles of the UN Charter.

The present terms of reference concern the updating of the context, data and passages of the Common Country Assessment 2021. The consultant will work under the supervision of and in close collaboration with the Economist of the Office of the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System in Morocco.

The work will consist of: - Incorporation the requests and updates by ensuring the control of the sources of the data mobilized. This information will be provided, - Update data and data visualizations, - Complete the above tasks while ensuring the overall coherence of the document. - Write a note (2000 words maximum) on the development trajectory of Morocco during 2021-2022 and the factors affecting it.

Qualifications/special skills A Master’s degree in economics or related area is required.

All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 2 years of work experience in research, data analysis, and report drafting is required.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

For this position, fluency in French and English is required.

Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
