The SDGs, Paris Agreement and Sendai Framework highlight that for development to be sustainable, it must become resilient to growing risks from climate change and disasters. This is critical in the Arab region, which already stands as the world's most water scarce and food import dependent region. Together with the League of Arab States, Arab Water Council and a number of UN partner organizations, UNDP has initiated the 'SDG Climate Facility Project: Climate Action for Human Security' to (i) promote more integrated solutions for climate action that brings benefits across SDGs and crisis prevention and recovery; and (ii) to scale up local partnerships and finance to this end.
