We are looking for 1 skilled English to French online interpreter online volunteer to assist our team in translating 2 modules of the Curriculum on Governance modules which consist handbooks of approximately 100-120 pages of text, including tables, graphs to check, as well as the content of each module (length varies). The material will be published on the web page and volunteers will be recognized and acknowledged for their effort.

The Online Volunteer will be tasked with the following:

  1. Translate the entire substantive text provided from English to French of each of the selected Curriculum modules ensuring logical flow, accuracy in the use of the French language (spelling, punctuation, semantics) and grammatical style by re-writing any unclear sentences, run-on sentences, using plain language, and in general, revising parts as needed;
  2. Ensure consistency of style throughout the series;
  3. Ensure that the notes adhere to the United Nations language and style guidelines;
  4. Ensure that endnotes, references and headings are standardized;
  5. Ensure that figures, tables, graphs and boxes, where used, are standardized and accurate in terms of numbering and flow;
  6. Consult regularly with DPIDG officers responsible for the coordination of the notes for clarification if needed.
