This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

UNV works under a dual mandate – to mobilize volunteers for the United Nations System and to support to deliver on the 2030 Agenda through the engagement of UN-Volunteers and the integration of volunteerism. UNV Regional Office for Asia Pacific with 11 Field Units deploys UN Volunteers to around 30 countries and territories every year. In 2021, approximately 1,650 National and International UN Volunteers served with about 30 different UN Entities in the region. UN Volunteers reflect and write about their volunteer experience. The stories are published in the UNV global website (https://www.unv.org/) and/or social media, during the International Days and Weeks observed by United Nations (https://www.un.org/en/observances/international-days-and-weeks) and other relevant occasions. The stories inspire people around the world, by reading unique experiences of UN Volunteers gained during their UNV assignments assisting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The expected result of this online volunteering is to assist UN Volunteers to write up their volunteer stories and finalize in coordination with UNV Regional Office for the Asia Pacific. The final product of this online volunteering should present drafts of the volunteer stories. To produce the stories, selected online volunteers will be linked with UN Volunteers who expressed interest in writing up their volunteer stories. Coordinate with the regional portfolio and communications team of UNV Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific for editing and finalization of the stories.

Experience in production of human interest stories and other communication products is highly regarded. Prior experience in the peace, humanitarian and development sectors is preferred. Shortlisted candidates might be contacted by email or Skype as part of the selection process. Upon selection, the online volunteer will receive further guidance to carry out this tasks. The online volunteer will assist over the period of 8 weeks in total (from Jan till 28 Feb 2022). Over the period, each Online Volunteer would assist up to 3 UN Volunteer stories, for individual or in a group.
