Details

The Gender Strategist will be tasked with supporting the gender advisor in developing the Gender Strategy for UNDP Somalia. This support will consist in conducting a desk review, develop a survey and/or conduct a sensemaking exercise to analyse and reflect inputs from key stakeholders. A special session will be conducted to develop the theory of change which will form the framework for the development of the gender strategy. A plan of action will support the strategy.

Gender equality and the advancement of women

UNDP Somalia has developed a new Country Programme Document which will guide the work of the organization for the next 5 years. The Gender Strategy will ensure that new projects and programmes have gender equality and women empowerment at their core and that feminist development principles are applied in order to achieve sustainable peace and development. The contribution of the volunteers will be recognized in the foreword of the new strategy. A letter of appreciation will be provided for the volunteers.
Volunteers: 2 needed
11-20 hours per week / 8 weeks

The volunteer will need gender expertise in addition to strong strategic planning.
