We are looking for two Online Volunteers to support our UNicoins project within the remit of the United Nations Innovation Network. The Online Volunteers will be asked to be actively involved in the technical drafting of a White Paper for UNicoins, digital tokens representing UN personnel’s time spent contributing to cross-system projects to incentivise and account for collaboration.

UNicoins are an enterprise crypto-asset based on distributed ledger technology (DLT) for use within the United Nations system. UNicoins, digital tokens represent UN personnel’s time spent contributing to cross-system projects to incentivise and account for collaboration. This proof-of-concept (POC) results from an effective collaboration for Reimagining the United Nations that is led by a committed team of Young UN staff from across the United Nations system incorporating an innovative digital token SDG solution for a time based currency to incentivize cross-UN system collaboration.
Volunteers: 2 needed
6-10 hours per week / 8 weeks
Candidates should have experience and familiarity with blockchain and distributed leger technology more generally. Preference would be for those with a deep technical understanding of ERC-20 token economics, as well as other blockchain ecosystems including a firm grasp of the underlying technical specifications and embedded incentive structures. Previous White Paper drafting would be ideal.
