UNRWA depends almost exclusively on voluntary contributions by UN Member States and intergovernmental organisations for the funding of its mandate and operations. Their contributions account for over 80 per cent of overall income in 2024. Governments and institutional donors are UNRWA’s largest source of funding. Through building robust partnerships with governments, intergovernmental organisations and streamlining global advocacy in multilateral platforms, UNRWA was able to further sustain, increase and diversify the Agency’s funding resources for running its core, public-like services. UNRWA is collaborating with all partners to mobilise adequate funding to safeguard the Agency’s continued operations and avoid a further reduction in essential services.

We are looking for an Online Volunteers who will support us with the project concept notes submission to the Global Development and South South Cooperation Fund (Government of China).In close collaboration with an Associate Donor Relations and Projects Officer, the Online Volunteer is asked to: - Manage the standardization of a total of 6 project concept notes in conformity with donor requirements. - Translate 6 project concept notes into Chinese from English, average 6 pages per project. - Support with the migration of submitted projects from offline to the online GDI and South South Cooperation Fund project system. - Support the revision and finalization of 6 project proposals for donor submission.

This assignment allows the Online Volunteer to have a deep dive into project management and by extension, donor relations development with the Government of China. It further provides an opportunity to develop and hone their skills on project development, donor communication as well as resource mobilization.

Candidates should be well-versed with the 2030 Agenda and SDGs. Professional experience in project development and management is desirable. A degree in an international relations/development-related field is considered an asset.
