We seek support for our organization’s fundraising campaign for a youth development project. The project is a capacity-building project that empowers young people to build sustainable organizations in Africa. The overall objective is to help us ensure our organization’s finances are sustainable and necessary funds are at our disposal to support the project's activities. To this end, we are looking for three experienced volunteers who will become part of our fundraising team as online volunteers and help us with outreach and other fundraising-related tasks by developing fundraising strategies, sharing innovative fundraising ideas, researching potential donor organizations and funding opportunities, helping draft letters and correspondence, writing project proposal, providing advice on how to approach donors. The volunteers won't be ask to be in touch with third parties.

As an organization, what we are able to do is a function of the resources ta our disposal. And one of our challenges is the inability to hire experienced staff to take charge of our fundraising activities. This task is to help us bridge this gap; the online volunteers will help us as an organization to improve our fundraising activities and sustain our ongoing project. It is also an opportunity for our team to learn from the experienced volunteers and grow with this knowledge.
Volunteers: 6 needed
1-5 hours per week / 12 weeks
Candidates should have previous experience in prospect, development, or market research, preferably in the non-profit sector, superior analytical skills, the ability to interpret complex financial disclosure documents for wealth assessment, an understanding of the donor base that has an interest in African-based projects. The volunteers must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
