The UNDP SDG Acceleration Unit acts as an integrator for furthering SDGs in the states and Union Territories. It comprises of 3 Regional Offices-North, North East and South Region and two state offices in Odisha and Uttarakhand. The unit is also providing technical support to the Planning Departments of various state governments through its specialized convergence unit called the SDG Coordination Centre for a directed approach to SDGs at the state and UT level in states like Haryana, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Nagaland, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Jammu and Kashmir.

These offices are actively engaged in partnership with the State Government Departments to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as outlined in the Agenda 2030. Through this collaborative effort, the office aims to support the State Governments in implementing and promoting initiatives for sustainable development in specific state-prioritized areas like tribal welfare, water management, enhancing climate resilience, health, agriculture, localizing SDGs at the grassroots, etc.

To that end, the unit is seeking the assistance of Online Volunteers to support the state and regional offices of the unit in conducting research and undertaking data cleaning and compilation works for indices like the state SDG index, NER District SDG index, etc.

The key tasks expected from the Online Volunteers are: • Conduct research and draft analytical briefs on SDGs • Support the team in data extraction, cleaning, validation, and compilation for indices like state-specific SDG index, North-eastern District SDG Index, etc.
