UN Women’s China Office in Beijing supports and carries out work on (i) enhancing women's economic empowerment (WEE); (ii) ending violence against women (EVAW); (iii) innovative work to address gender issues in China (QWFIS); (iv) contributing to gender equality and women’s empowerment in China (CGF); and (v) using media to promote gender equality (Communication). In addition to the above, UN Women also actively participates and contributes to various UN inter-agency processes and collaborates with UN organizations around specific programme areas.

The Online Volunteer will support the Partnerships team and is expected to deliver on a timely, quality and results-oriented approach to support the office’s effective engagement with WEPs signatories in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment in China and abroad.

The Online Volunteer will be asked to support the office’s engagement with Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) signatories in China in three main ways: 1) Provide event preparation and logistics support for key engagements with WEPs signatories (e.g., CEO Roundtables); 2) Develop documents and materials to support the event (e.g., agenda, event summaries, etc.); 3) Provide coordination support to engage key WEPs stakeholders.

While the volunteer will support remotely, the Online Volunteer will be expected to be online for 16-20 hours per week during regular business hours and able to commit to 10-12 weeks for this role. The volunteer will communicate and exchange information with the team over email, Teams and other channels. The volunteer will also be expected to provide support and/or participate in virtual team meetings and report to the Public and Private Sector Partnership Specialist.
