Overview

Provide translation services from English to Russian and back for UNDP EE Unit Programme documents.

You have:

  • Experience in translation of technical or analytical publications, preferably within UN agencies, international organizations, or similar institutions.
  • Excellent command of English and Russian languages, with ability to translate, edit and refine complex texts in these languages.
  • Familiarity with UNDP editorial and publication standards, including terminology, structure, and formatting requirements is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, stylistic consistency, and adherence to institutional branding and communication guidelines.
  • Ability to work with large documents and ensure coherence and quality across bilingual/trilingual versions.

The UNDP EE Unit produces programme documents and communication materials that require high-quality bilingual versions in English and Russian. To support effective communication and knowledge sharing, the selected Online Volunteer will assist with translating, editing, and proofreading short programme-related documents and concept notes.

The exact volume of work and number of pages will be agreed upon with the selected volunteer based on availability and assignment needs. The assignment requires strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity across both language versions.

The selected Online Volunteer will support the translation of programme-related documents from English to Russian and, where required, from Russian to English. Tasks may include translation, editing, proofreading, and linguistic quality assurance of programme documents, concept notes, and other communication materials produced by the UNDP EE Unit.
