Since November 2019, UNDP Ukraine has been promoting the concept of innovations inspired by nature among different stakeholder groups and building a community of interested people and organizations. Last year, we run the Biomimicry National Design Challenge https://www.ua.undp.org/content/ukraine/en/home/blog/2020/finalists-anno.... We invited innovators, engineers, designers, and inventors developing biomimicry solutions (even if they themselves do not describe them as biomimicry) to apply. This year UNDP would like build on this experience and established partnership, and create further momentum by reorganizing the Challenge in 2021 in a new “shape” - mainly adding an open-access online training and awareness campaign on biomimicry, to ensure knowledge and awareness about regenerative biomimicry innovations among prospective competition’ participants, as well as general public.
