Overview

You have:

  • Master’s degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology

  • Background in counseling, especially on trauma from natural disasters
  • Ability to conduct individual assessments
  • Capability to perform follow-up on counselling sessions

With this task, UNICEF is hoping to provide more counselling services to staff and their dependents, in order to take care of their wellbeing.

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to provide consultations to total number of 15 individuals, to improve their psychology and wellbeing to better support their quality of life and assist aid operations.

UNICEF is looking for the support of online volunteers to provide psychosocial support to the dependents and staff members in UNICEF.

Tasks include: Clinical counselling / providing psychosocial support to any family member affected from earthquake requiring professional support and assistance in resolving personal and/or work-related problem(s). The online volunteers will perform individual assessments in the case of family members experiencing difficulty coping and/or presenting mental-health related symptoms or syndromes. They will be expected to set aside time for a maximum of 14 counselling sessions per week to support the Staff Wellbeing Office. Sessions will be 1 hour-long.

• Perform critical incident trauma and stress defusing (individual and group). Perform counselling follow-up to detect and identify psychosocial support. Provide referrals for individuals who require long term support.

• Report to Regional Staff Counsellor in ECAR based on activities, general trends, and any organizational concerns.

Educational requirement is a Master’s degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology. Working in the context of providing psychosocial support Counselling Experience and Background (especially on natural disasters trauma is an asset)
