With this task, OCHA is hoping to provide more counselling services to the dependents of staff member and their families, in order to take care of their wellbeing.

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to provide consultations to total number of 15 individuals, to help coping with the emergency situation in Sudan improve their psychology and wellbeing to better support their quality of life and assist aid operations.

OCHA is looking for the support of online volunteers to provide psychosocial support to the dependents of staff member in OCHA.

Tasks include: Reaching out actively to family members of staff providing counselling support and assistance in coping with the security risks, anxieties and worries due to the uncertainties. The online volunteer will assess the psychosocial need of the client and provide counselling support regarding coping strategies and building of resilience. In cases, where psychotherapy is required referral and guidance on accessing a psychotherapist should be provided. The Online Volunteer will be expected to set aside time for at least 14 counselling sessions per week to support the Staff Welfare Office. Sessions will be between 30 min to 45 min.

• Assess psychosocial need, provide psychological first aid and counselling, guide on how to get referral to psychotherapy or a psychiatrist, when indicated. Provide follow-up and debrief the staff counsellor maintaining confidential details of the client.

Education: Minimum of Bachelor and Masters in Psychology Working in the context of providing psychosocial support and counselling Counselling Experience and Background (especially for clients in emergency situations and traumatic incidences)
