Overview

Finalize the training manual for printing and design.

You have:

  • Strong skills and proven experience in layout & formatting for press.
  • Basic skills in graphic design for the cover page.
  • Capability to produce an end product quite independently under a strict deadline.
  • Fluency in English is necessary for communication.
  • Basic understanding of Portuguese may be beneficial, but not necessary.

The task is to finalize a training manual so that it is ready for printing. This will consist of the following sub-tasks: 1) Edit the manual so that its contents follow the UNDP regulations and brand (The UNDP brand manual will be shared with the volunteer) 2) Design a cover for the manual 3) Organize Pages and Index; Modules are sequenced and in each module, the files have an order; Some pages are in different position (portrait and landscape) the printing of these need to be planned; The content is currently organized to 9 modules and will be shared via google drive. 4) Ensure the manual is press ready, with print cross marks for the printer

    UNDP Sao Tome and Principe has an ongoing project, "Empreedem Jovem". This project is supporting young entrepreneurs by providing matching grants for new and existing small and medium enterprises. In addition the project provides training for new and existing young entrepreneurs. The current task is related to the training component of the project. To ensure that all beneficiaries have equal access to information, UNDP Sao Tome and Principe is transforming online materials to printable training material that can be disseminated with the young entrepreneurs as a workbook to guide them through the training. The training manual is ready in content, but now UNDP Sao Tome and Principe is looking for an qualified volunteer who could assist the trainer of the project in finalizing a printable version of the manual to ensure equal access to information for the beneficiaries of whom many lack internet access. The manual needs to be finalized urgently and for this reason an experienced candidate will be preferred.

  • 11-20 hours per week / 1 weeks

    The volunteer needs to have strong skills (and proven experience) in layout & formatting for press. Basic skills in graphic design are needed for the cover page. Capability to produce an end product quite independently under a strict deadline. English is necessary. The manual is in Portuguese, so basic understanding of the language might be beneficial for the task, but not necessary.
