Details

The Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government and its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG) in the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is currently developing the Handbook Series on “Innovative Local Governance for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals”, in collaboration with the Korea Research Institute for Local Administration (KRILA). The Handbook Series consists of six handbooks.

We are looking for three (3) Online Volunteer/s who under the guidance of Ms. Mi Kyoung Park, Governance and Public Administration Officer and in close collaboration with the communications team support us by producing graphic designs for six (6) handbooks of the Handbook Series on Innovative Local Governance for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The length of each Handbook may vary, in average approximately 60 pagers per Handbook, including tables, graphs, charts and images. Each UN Volunteer will work on two (2) handbook.

In particular, each Online Volunteer is asked to: - Collect information on document/material background such as target audience, design style, branding guidelines etc.; - Create draft design based on requirements and discuss with focal point/ communications team; - Develop the design according to agreed requirements.

The design/layout should follow our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance.

The Online Volunteer/s will have the opportunity to build connections with the United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG) at DPIDG/ UN DESA and learn about the ways in which graphic design can support the Handbook Series on Innovative Local Governance for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing document layouts, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.
