Manasa Mora (https://www.manasamora.org/), an initiative that is part of UNDP Youth Co:Lab Springboard Programme, provides laundry service in Madagascar and Guinea for reduction of water-borne diseases and local women empowerment. Traditional washing creates water paddles which can be breeding grounds for water borne diseases-spreading mosquitos including malaria. Currently, Malagasy women spend average 6-8 hours per week washing clothes by hand. By giving them a relatively cheaper and high-quality option, Manasa Mora aims to increase local women's daily efficiency so they have more time spent on skill-up and education for their children.
