Overview

Conduct systems analysis and provide client support in a complex network environment.

You have:

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management, network engineering, or a related field required.
  • Master degree in computing or a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum seven years of professional experience in computing and network administrative and support activities required.
  • Good command in English is required.
  • Additional proficiency in languages used in missions is an advantage.
  • Experience in the UN organization or international experience is highly desirable.

Result of Service- Conduct systems analysis in heterogeneous computing and network environment - Provide transaction data analysis on the recurring problems - Update troubleshooting manuals, maintenance procedures, and FAQs

Duties and Responsibilities UNESCAP is hosting UN Secretariat’s OICT Enterprise Solutions Service, Global Resource Section whose purpose is to develop and support a wide array of in-house enterprise applications. As a part of projects mandated by GA, the team requires a software support analyst to respond to clients from Asia, Americas, Europe, and Africa. The consultant will bring external experience in trouble-shooting of systems on complex distributed network architecture, and client handling skill to help build the capacity of the UN Secretariat team.

The consultant is expected to carry out the following responsibilities: - Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and quality assurance of enterprise applications in complex networking environment. - Communication and network troubleshooting and information security analysis - Provide application support with high-level of client-orientation. - Perform other duties as required

Qualifications/special skills Skills: Knowledge in modern networking and computing environment; Board understanding and ability to diagnose Information security issue; good oral and written communication skills in English are required. Additional proficiency in languages used in missions has an advantage. Academic Qualifications: At minimum of bachelor degree in computer science, information systems management, network, engineering or a related field preferable Master degree in computing or related field is an advantage. Experience: Minimum seven year of professional experience in computing and network administrative and support activities. Experience in the UN organization or International experience is highly desirable Language: Good command in English is required.
