Contribute to the commercialization of Family Farming in Brazil.
You have:
- University degree in Social Sciences or Agricultural Sciences, according to the CAPES table of areas of knowledge
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), supply and commercialization of family farming products
- Working knowledge of English and Portuguese
- National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit
Organizational Setting
UTF/BRA/089/BRA The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.
Technical Focus
The incumbent will carry out studies, surveys and systematization of data to support SEAB/MDA in its strategy for the commercialization of Family Farming.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Prepare a study on federal properties for use as popular supply centers. • Collect data on the commercialization of Family Farming products in a network of small and medium-sized retailers in the 60 priority municipalities of the Alimenta Cidade Strategy. • Conduct technical studies to promote a strategy for the commercialization of family farming in short marketing channels. • Conduct a study on the Food Supply Centers (Ceasas) regarding their structure, scope, management model (public, private or mixed) and role in public policies for food security, combating waste and productive inclusion. • Prepare a technical study on the inclusion of the public policies of the MDA in the CEAGESP and CEASAMINAS Centers.
