You have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in humanitarian logistics management, including supply chain management, fleet management, asset management, and distribution support.
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with service providers and contractors’ management.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • BA in Business Management, Supplies Management or other relevant business fields.
  • High integrity, pro-active, stable, robust character and a good team-player.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and frequent travel to Dolo Field Office

Employment Category: G2 Salary Range: USD 946.00 – 1,151.00 per month which specific amount will be determined up on candidates experience and educational relevancy

INTRODUCTION

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), an international non-governmental organization (NGO), has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. DRC promotes and supports solutions to the problems faced by refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and migrants. The organization has offices across the region, and has been operational in Ethiopia since 2009. With funding from bilateral and multilateral donors, DRC is currently implementing a range of activities across Ethiopia and Djibouti, including WASH and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender-based violence response, awareness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration.

Overall purpose of the role:

This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and administration

• Ensuring all the procurement processes are in line with DRC Operations Handbook

• Effective and efficient support to programs’ needs.

• Develop and maintain relevant data base.

• Maintaining the procurement follow up process

• Weekly and monthly status reports

• Warehouse management, including reporting and alert mechanism to program staff.

• Assist in recruitment, training, and capacity building of the logistics team

• Coordination of programme staff to ensure logistics involvement in the whole programme cycle

• Procurement of all goods and services

• Establish and follow up annual procurement plans

• Track all orders, purchases and deliveries

• Ensure that all logistics specific donor rules and policies are understood and respected

• Oversight of all purchase and service contract to ensure DRC's interests are protected

• Vehicle fleet management

• Optimize all logistics operations to increase cost effectiveness including setting up longer term supply contracts

• Fixed asset management

• Ensure DRC supplier due diligence is effective in the relevant context

• Correctly apply ERP supply chain processes"

• Ensure compliance and implementation of Operations Handbook

• Provide monthly comprehensive country reports on Inventory/Assets to SMT

• Implement any available tools to improve the inventory management

• Provide guidance in disposal methods for unused or expired Asset with prior Donor/DRC Country director approval

• To facilitate in taking the lead in implanting more framework agreements as much as possible

Experience and Technical Competencies: (include years of experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in humanitarian logistics management within the field of supply chain management, fleet management, asset management, and distribution support
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with service providers and contractors’ management.
  • High integrity, pro-active, stable, robust character and a good team-player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
  • Experience in working in NGOs
  • Proven commitment to accountability practices.
  • Knowledge of computers: word processing, database management packages.

Education (include certificates, licenses etc.):

  • BA BM, Supplies Management or other relevant business fields.

Languages: (indicate fluency level)

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
