Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Supply Chain Officer (Logistics) to be based in Warsaw, Poland.

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to promote and protect durable solutions to conflict and displacement-affected populations on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. DRC is implementing a multi-sector response to support Ukraine refugees, IDPs, and host populations both within Ukraine and in the neighboring countries of Poland, Romania and Moldova, and wider Europe. Since late February 2022, nearly 4 million Ukrainians and third-country nationals have crossed the border to Poland. As part of its neighboring country response, DRC is establishing an operational presence in Poland to support displaced populations through partnership with civil society organizations and national NGOs, duty bearers, and other actors.

About the job

As Supply Chain Officer you will be responsible for warehousing, transportation of goods, vehicle fleet management, and general logistics support to the program. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring all the goods received, fixed assets management, inventory turnover, and fleet services are processed in line with DRC Operations Handbook.
  • Effective and efficient support to programs’ needs.
  • Maintain monitoring of inventory turnover in the country.
  • Maintaining the fixed assets country database.
  • Weekly and monthly status reports.
  • Warehouse management, including reporting and alert mechanism to program staff.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and capacity building of the logistics team.
  • Coordination of program staff to ensure logistics involved in the whole program cycle.
  • Track all orders, purchases, and deliveries.
  • Ensure that all logistics-specific donor rules and policies are understood and respected.
  • Vehicle fleet management.
  • Ensure DRC supplier due diligence is effective in the relevant context.
  • Correctly apply ERP supply chain processes.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 2 years of experience in humanitarian logistics, transport and distribution, warehousing, and stock management. Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Relevant university degree in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Good understanding of functioning 3PL service providers and cross-border moving cargo.
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Fluency in Polish.
