The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world’s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, have been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC launched an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. In 2018, DRC started implementing aid projects in support of the host communities most affected by the influx of refugees. As a key part of this, DRC opened a main office in Cox’s Bazar, and a support/liaison office in Dhaka.

POSITION PROFILE

The Supply Chain Officer (Asset) is responsible for managing all Assets, General Programme Equipment and Premises Equipment in DRC Bangladesh, ensuring operations are transparent, efficient and policy compliant and respond to the organization’s ongoing programming and emergency needs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all staff adhere to DRC Operations Handbook, SOP for Distribution of Assets and Donor requirements.
  • Ensure to manage the day-to-day safe custody of all assets. Ensuring all the cabinets are locked and keys handed over to the supply chain manager at the end of the day.
  • Ensure that the assets are arranged properly without stacking that can cause further damage to the assets.
  • Ensure that any assets being received are inspected by technical teams e.g., IT for laptops before accepting. Check to ensure complete documents are delivered with the documents e.g., PO, Invoices, and delivery notes.
  • Ensure that assets and equipment are recorded, tagged, updated, and managed according to assets SOPs.
  • Based on approval from Supply Chain Manager, assign the assets to the next custodian completing all the documents fully.
  • Maintain and update hard copy files of documents and update on O365 on a regular basis.
  • Ensure Asset Register is updated and shared/named per month to allow for tracking.
  • Maintain and follow through the asset repair and maintenance tracker to ensure assets send to the service shops are fixed and delivered back to office in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for conducting monthly and annual stock and assets verification and updating in Dynamics in readiness for donor reporting.
  • Review of monthly Asset and GPE registers before submitting to Supply Chain Manager.
  • Receive all the incident reports, ensure they are properly filled and escalate with Supply Chain Manager for action.
  • Identify from the asset register assets that are obsolete and damaged for repairs or disposal.
  • Ensure proper clearance of exiting staff for Supply Chain Manager’s approval.
  • Work closely with IT and other technical teams while addressing the technical aspects of an asset.
  • Plan and manage any casual laborer/enumerators working closely with HR. Train, guide, monitor attendance and prepare their payments.
  • Solve problem with abilities in warehouse and discuss necessarily with line manager.
  • To organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and coordinate multiple tasks specially on projects closing time.
  • Provide recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager for procedural changes to enhance effectiveness and controls in Asset Management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • 2-4 years’ experience in supply chain-logistics, particularly in warehousing and inventory management in DRC.
  • Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and coordinate multiple tasks maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to deal with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team spirit and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good computer skills in MS Word & Excel and online warehousing system.
  • Strong sense of personal integrity.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain preferred and/or relevant professional certification and training.

LANGUAGES

  • English (Fluent in writing and speaking).
  • Bengali (Fluent in writing and speaking).
