This is a G-6 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 6 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-6 contracts.

How can you make a difference?

  • Receives supply requisitions, reviews and checks on accuracy of specifications of items.
  • Confirms availability of funds and obtain additional information from the programme sections as considered necessary. Monitors assigned PGMs to ensure completion of procurement actions in a timely manner.
  • Obtains quotations, issues invitation to bids to approved and listed suppliers, arranges and participates in Bid openings with the Supply/Logistics Officer, compile price tabulations with price ratings and recommendations for order placement, prepares CRC submissions for finalization by the Supply/Logistics Officer.
  • Co-ordinates with Programme Sections/Field offices and suppliers on supply and procurement matters, reviewing TORs for completeness.
  • Issues purchase orders/contracts as adjudicated by the Supply/Logistics Officer or recommended for award by the CRC and approved by the Head of Office, monitor deliveries of orders issued.
  • Prepares contract documents including any agreed changes to special terms and conditions. Obtains legal advice for deviations proposed by suppliers on general terms and conditions.
  • Manages contracts portfolio of the unit including performance of both parties. Analyses performance data and take corrective action as appropriate. Manages contract variations, ensuring changes in contractual terms and conditions are in line with market competitiveness.
  • Undertakes market research to identify potential suppliers, under the guidance and supervision of the Supply/Logistics officer.
  • Manages the SEU of vendors in liaison with the Supply Division, maintains data base
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Supply and Logistics.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education
  • Training in Supply/Logistics.
  • Diploma in procurement is a plus
  • Accounting or business studies courses, preferably supplemented with university/technical course in Supply/Procurement.
  • Diploma in warehouse and supply management is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of computer Word & Excel applications.
  • Six (6) years work experience in administrative capacity preferably in field related to Supply/procurement/ Logistics.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English and local language of duty station required
