Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Centralised Warehousing Unit of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), duty station Abyei. The incumbent will report to the Chief of Unit, Centralised Warehousing or their designate.

Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Supply Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

- Receives authorized online requisitions for stores’ supplies from Chiefs of Section and Heads of Units; verifies the requisitions and issue in accordance with sections’/units’ monthly requirements; ensures that supplies are issued to requested offices/sections as per approved requisitions without delay. - Monitors stock of supplies in the stores; conducts regular stock taking of expendable items in the supply stores and prepares reports on discrepancies observed; informs Chief of Unit on supplies which require stock replenishment in a timely manner; ensures that items in the supply stores are arranged in an orderly manner and ensure that supplies are issued to requestors before expiration date of the products; plans well in advance on expected delivery of supplies in order to maintain adequate storage facilities for incoming goods. - Assists in raising requisitions for services and items required by the supply stores; receives requests from offices and sections and raises requisitions in the system for goods/services required. - Assists Receipt and Inspection Unit (R&I) in receiving and inspecting goods delivered by vendors and managed by Centralised Warehousing Unit; processes internal R&I reports for goods in the Supply Stores and forward to R&I Unit for processing records of the goods in Umoja and issue to end users according to established procedures; update stock cards for acquired products. Assist in weekly reconciliation of receipts and issues in order to confirm that nothing is being misappropriated. - Conducts periodic inventory of UN non-expendable property and attractive Property managed by supply stores and update records in Umoja by processing issue vouchers to individual/ end sures of UN property for purpose of transparency and accountability. assist with ensuring implementation of the internal control systems including accounting, reporting and maintenance of all electronic/hardcopy records to ensure proper audit trail. - Prepares write-off requests for property which is lost, obsolete or damaged; receives technical evaluation report from Technicians on damaged property or property which has become obsolete and raise request for write-off in the Umoja system to facilitate submission to the Local Property Survey Board (LPSB) by the Claims office; ensure that property approved for write-off and disposal is handed over to the Property Disposal Unit in a timely manner. - Implements Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace. - Perform other duties as required.

Education High school or equivalent diploma is required.

Job - Specific Qualification Technical certificate in at least one of the following areas is desirable: logistics, inventory management, and supply chain management.

Work Experience A minimum of six (06) years of progressively responsible experience in inventory management, warehouse management, supply chain or related area, including at least 2 years at the international level is required. Please explain how you meet this criterion using examples.

Experience in supporting supply services for international peacekeeping or military operations is required. Please explain how you meet this criterion using examples.

Working experience in UMOJA warehouse module and inventory management module is mandatory. A minimum of three (3) years of proven experience with both modules is required. Please explain how you meet this criterion using examples.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
