Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Warehouse and Commodity Management Section of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Juba. The Supply Assistant will report to the Warehouse Supervisor or his/her designated official.

Responsibilities Within the delegated authority of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Supply Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

- Process issuance vouchers for expendable and non- expendables property in Umoja Inventory system and for stocks held in the warehouses; - Support the Check-in/Check-out procedures for new and departing staff; - Supervise and direct junior staff in all necessary day-to-day warehouse operations; - Maintain the store database, ensures its integrity and report the status to the Supervisor; - Assist the Warehouse Supervisor during the receiving and inspection activities. Ensure that goods supplied are in line with the packing list; - Supervise that all items received for storage are labelled, properly arranged in the storage shelves/bins and correctly entered into the database; - Follow- up with MovCon Section the delivery of materials in compliance with Cargo Movement Requests (CMRs) and establish schedules; - Assist Warehouse Supervisor to coordinate and action the demand and provision of stock between the warehouses and Mission offices (end users); - Supervise that assigned tasks including distribution planning, records keeping, packing of supplies, movement of cargo and delivery of goods; - Maintain inventory accuracy for stock on hand. Apply inventory performance metrics to determine overstock situations and alert the supervisors about excess stocks; - Assist Warehouse Supervisor to conduct 100% physical count of non-expendable and expendable stocks in accordance with Mission’ policy; - Support with the identification of inventory to be written-off, based on usage patterns and ABC analysis; - Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitoring of deadlines, timelines and milestones; - Raise security reports for damaged or missing items; - Perform any other duties assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work. Foresees risks and allows for contingencies when planning. Monitors and adjusts plans and actions as necessary. Uses time efficiently.

Education High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Experience A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in inventory and supply management, property management, logistics, procurement, warehousing, administrative services, or related area is required.

Experience in Logistics, Warehousing or Supply Chain Management is desirable

Experience in inventory management, in managing a database of expendable and non-expendable assets is desirable

Languages Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
