This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Logistics Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Supply and Logistics Assistant will:

  • Coordination of MOFA clearance activities
  • Processing of local GST requests
  • Manage and coordinate for End User Certificates with internal partners
  • Coordination of customs clearance activities with internal and external partners
  • Management of offshore supplies dashboard, with input from internal and external partners
  • Provide input to expediting activities of offshore supplies
  • Assist in procurement processes for procurement of local supplies
  • Undertake pre-and/or post-delivery inspections, sample assessment jointly with programme colleagues, as and when required, to ensure quality of product
  • Assist the supervisor in conducting, periodic field supply monitoring, suggest improvements and follow up on recommendations for closure
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Educational additional comments

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or business-related area

Experience remark

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience at the national level in any area of supply chain (procurement, logistics, contract management)
  • Good computer skills
  • Good proficiency in excel, including undertaking analysis
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with a variety of different stakeholders
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
