You have:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in mathematics, physics, engineering, statistics, finance, economics, information technology, another STEM subject or another relevant field.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in the field of planning and project management, or in a position involving coordination among several stakeholders, and the ability to work with data, gained in the context of banking supervision, consulting or finance.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis, data processing and data visualisation tools, including Excel, Python, PowerBI, and the ability to work with databases.
  • A track record in effectively managing multiple recurring and ad hoc tasks, while prioritising appropriately and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders, tasks or processes, demonstrating an ownership mentality.
  • Strategic thinking skills including a continuous learning mindset and outcome-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and drafting skills, and the ability to prepare presentations and briefings in a clear, concise way for diverse audiences.
  • An advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Experience in banking supervision in the context of the Single Supervisory Mechanism, particularly as team member for on-site missions.

Your team You will be part of the Operations & Integration Division in the Directorate General On-site & Internal Model Inspections. Our Directorate General plans, performs and coordinates on-site inspections and internal model investigations in collaboration with the national competent authorities (NCAs), helping identify risks and supervisory priorities.

In your role as Supervision Analyst, you will be part of a team of about 15 members of staff responsible for the planning and staffing of SSM on-site inspections (OSIs) and internal model investigations (IMIs). You will closely cooperate with NCAs’ planning offices on the planning and staffing of on-site missions, support the operational launch of OSIs and IMIs, maintain and enhance planning tools and dashboards, and perform data analysis and prepare presentations to underpin the overall planning process.

The Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) is the system of banking supervision in Europe. It comprises the ECB and the national supervisory authorities of the participating countries.

Your role As a Supervision Analyst you will:

- engage and collaborate with the various stakeholders working with the Operations & Integration Division, including colleagues from the NCAs and the other divisions of the Directorate General; - establish, maintain and enhance planning tools, dashboards and datasets to support the planning and staffing of missions; - support the planning and execution of the on-site supervisory programme by carrying out various operational tasks, in particular launching on-site inspections and preparing appointment letters for heads of mission, leveraging automated routines and codes; - contribute to the planning and staffing of OSIs and IMIs, acting as point of contact for one or more NCAs’ planning offices; - contribute to the preparation of briefings and presentations related to the Division’s tasks and participate in cross-departmental projects, international fora and working groups; - identify and propose process improvements and simplification in relation to the above tasks.

Further information Temporary appointments may be extended or made permanent subject to organisational needs and budgetary constraints. This may result in a staff member with a non-convertible fixed-term contract being offered a convertible contract in accordance with the ECB Conditions of Employment.
