SCOPE OF ADMINISTRATION & OPERATIONS ASSISTANT INTERN WORK: The Administration & Operations Assistant Intern will work with the Operations team to provide administrative and operational support within the Florida offices. Assist with administrative tasks, operational tasks, and various other related duties. The hours for this position are flexible; however, will primarily be between 9AM and 5PM on weekdays, with occasional weekend activities. Please note that all internship positions are unpaid. Accepting Tallahassee-based candidates only.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Intern will assist the Operations Coordinator with the following tasks:
- Support Administrative Assistant with managing reception materials, answering client questions, and direct requests to appropriate staff members.
- Assist with maintaining the reception area and lobby in a neat and professional manner.
- Assist with liaising with office and equipment maintenance providers and other external parties as needed to support office operations.
- Assist in covering the front desk for the Administrative Assistant.
- Check-out IRC staff and clients completing “shopping” visits to Contributions-In-Kind (CIK) stock room
- Physical inventory counts
- Label and organize donated household items
- Assist with unloading and loading inbound and outbound donated household items for IRC donors and clients
- Conduct weekly vehicle inspections according to checklist
- Data entry of inventory counts into Excel and other platforms
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
- Attention to detail, critical thinking skills, time management skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications.
- Previous administrative experience preferred.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; bilingual language skills is a plus

- Submit intern hours on volunteer dashboard
This will be an in-person role.
The internship will be filled on a rolling basis. We will continue to accept applications until April 18, 2025, or until the position is filled, whichever occurs first. Internship will begin the week of May 12th, 2025.
This position will report to the Operations Specialist.
