Are you a data-driven student with a passion for innovation and humanitarian work? The Danish Refugee Council's (DRC) Global Supply Chain (SC) unit is looking for a talented Student Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing ad-hoc support for various team tasks and contributing to the development of an AI-based platform.

About the job

Be a part of the future of Supply Chain Efficiency! You'll provide general support to our dynamic team, tackling various tasks and contributing to the success of our projects. As a part of this role, you'll also have the unique opportunity to help develop a platform that provides step-by-step guidance on SC business processes, gaining hands-on experience in building this innovative tool. Here's what you'll do:

  • Assist with general administrative tasks within the SC unit, including data collection for DKHQ contract registration, maintaining databases, and supporting various administrative activities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on your work.
  • Assist in developing and testing the platform, focusing on data analysis and model training.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for process improvement that the platform can address.
  • Help build and maintain a user-friendly chatbot that interacts with users seeking guidance.
  • Perform programming tasks as needed to support the platform's development.
  • Contribute to creating reports and presentations to showcase the platform's progress.

About you

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student, preferably with a background in Data Science and a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI). You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a passion for learning and contributing to meaningful projects. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will work closely with the SC team and developers.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • A good understanding of AI concepts and machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with Python and website design (e.g., WordPress)
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken)
  • Right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa)

Desirable

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Experienced with developing AI- based chatbots and using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Knowledge of prompt writing for AI
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and supply chain management principles
  • Experience working in an NGO or humanitarian context

We offer

  • Contract length: till 31 December 2024 (with possibility of extension)
  • Workplace: DRC HQ, Borgergade, Copenhagen K
  • Start date: Mid-August or 01 September 2024
  • Working hours: 20-22,5 hours per week (3 days/week) (Negotiable)

As it is a part-time student assistant job, it is a prerequisite that you live and study in Denmark. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and the student assistant. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
