In the above indicated context, the UNDP Tunisia CO is seeking a strategic partnerships specialist to work in the office of the Resident Representative (RR) and support the RR and Deputy RR directly in developing and implementing partnerships strategies for the CO in which support 1) implementation of the new CO vision spanning across programme, operational teams; 2) external engagement with key partners around UNDP’s programmatic offer, through an emphasis on building strategic partnerships around UNDP’s Country Programme Document 2021-2025; and 3) ongoing forward-looking analyses to ensure that UNDP’s partnerships and communications strategy and approaches remain responsive to changes in the volatile operating and stakeholder environment.

The UN Volunteer is required to project the values of the United Nations in all his/her interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including UNDP staff, UN sister agencies, national authorities and all development partners of UNDP, and to protect the strict confidentiality of all sensitive information. In the UNV’s critical management support role, s/he will ensure that business procedures and proto-cols are upheld while also facilitating the continuous flow of clear and authoritative information and communication between the RR and all Country Office teams in the interest of team cohesion and effectiveness in the delivery of results.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the UNDP Resident Representative or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the Strategic SDC Partnerships Specialist will:

  1. (35%) Effective support to Country Office management to map and develop partner-ships and mobilize resources as enablers for UNDP’s programmatic contributions to-wards Tunisia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Paris Climate Agreement commitments
  • Research, identify and map opportunities to cultivate high value partnerships for the three pillars of UNDP’s country programme – inclusive growth and human development; climate action, energy, environment and disaster risk reduction; governance.
  • Work with Country Office leadership and the Senior Management Team (SMT) to create and implement a partnerships and resource mobilization action plan and targets for 2022-2023 and develop key partnerships products and tools under the partnerships strategy.
  • Coordinate with communications, policy and programme experts at the Country Office to advance partner outreach and engagement around UNDP’s support to realization of the SDGs and Nationally Determined Contributions in Tunisia,.
  • Coordinate the preparation of external engagement materials including project fiches, brochures and other advocacy materials
  1. (35%) Enhanced partnerships management and donor relations to position UNDP’s integrated offer in support of an inclusive, just and sustainable development pathway in Tunisia;

- Develop collaborative relationships with local Member State missions of top funding partners of UNDP, broader UN family (UNCT), the Tunisian authorities, civil society, development partners and others on partnerships matters. - Maintain online repository of key partner agreements, reports, proposals and pitching products building on the existing online database/IT platforms established and man-aged by UNDP HQ as well as CO IT and Finance Units, and supporting roll-out of the new Customer Relations Management system - Work in close coordination with UNDP headquarters bureaux, including the Regional Bureau for Arab States (RBAS) and Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) to be fully updated about new partner priorities and financing trends at the regional and global levels.

  1. (30%) Strengthen advocacy and co-creation of initiatives with emerging partners for the SDGs

- Map and identify relevant entry points for cooperation with emerging partners such as foundations and private sector - In coordination with RR, SMT and the CO communications team on prioritization, develop targeted pitching materials and proposals to support resource mobilization for UNDP’s integrated SDG solutions. - Work with the communications and programme teams to organize external advocacy and partner dialogues. - Extract results and performance-related information from UNDP systems to inform the development of partnerships products to increase visibility of emerging partners.

This position is based in Tunis, Tunisia, which is a family duty station. International UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
