Result of Service 1. Coaching and guidance support during months 1-6 2. Refined SIPOCs with resource allocations, section annual workplan template, section annual workplans for 2023 and 2024 to be provided in month 3 3. Support in Operationalization of New Processes in month 4 4. Documentation support for targeted mapping exercises in months 5-6

Duties and Responsibilities This position is within the Office of the Assistant Secretary-General (OASG) of the International Impartial and Independent Mechanism to Assist in the Investigation and Prosecution of Persons Responsible for the Most Serious Crimes under International Law Committed in the Syrian Arab Republic since March 2011 (IIIM), located in Geneva, Switzerland.
Following the development of the 2022-2025 IIIM Strategic Plan, the consultant will support the IIIM in deploying the strategy to the operational level and ensuring sustained execution approach. The consultant will report to the Chief of Staff.
The consultant will provide expert process design, facilitation, and recommendations to IIIM leadership and its strategic planning team via best-practices strategy management and operational alignment. The objectives of the engagement are to:
- Support the Leadership in deploying the strategy to the operational level and ensuring sustained execution approach Team (LT) in the implementation of the strategic plan.
- Refinement of section-level annual work planning to clarify operational activities, resource allocation and goal clarity.
- Support to the Chief of Staff in execution of the strategy review meetings and the underlying strategic plan elements continue to mature and improve in efficacy.
Conduct targeted mapping exercises to document new and existing processes with a goal to ensure coordination between sections and consistency in execution of repeated processes.
Qualifications/special skills A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in Liberal Arts is required. A certification in Strategic Management or related field is required.
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Strategic management, including strategic planning, strategy execution and performance management is required.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required.
