ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Global hunger has reached alarming levels in 2022, and WFP, Nobel Peace Prize winner (2020), remains dedicated and committed to addressing this global food crisis. To enhance the efficiency and impact of our global initiatives, WFP is relocating key corporate functions within procurement and supply chain from its headquarters (Rome, Italy) to the UAE, Dubai. The UAE, chosen for its strategic location, stability, advanced infrastructure, markets, expertise, and innovation, is hosting the newly established Global Supply Chain Support Center. Six national Emirati positions, integral to this initiative, are part of WFP's innovative Humanitarian Leaders Programme.

The Humanitarian Leaders Programme

The Humanitarian Leaders Programme is a dedicated investment in nurturing young Emirati talent, aiming to develop future humanitarian responders and leaders. This programme offers high-potential Emirati professionals a unique opportunity to accelerate their career growth, aligning with the UAE government's priorities. It also serves as a platform for Emirati talents to familiarize themselves with the UN system and become future humanitarian leaders. JOB PURPOSE

JOB TITLE: STRATEGIC MARKET ANALYST (GOODS & SERVICES)

JOB CONTRACT/GRADE: NOA FIXED-TERM STAFF

JOB LOCATION: UAE, DUBAI NO OF OPENINGS: One (1)

REPORTING TO: Head of Supplier Relationship Management

The Strategic Market Analyst position is part of the Supplier Relationship Management team of the GCC WFP Office based in Dubai. The position holder will report to the Head of Supplier Relationship Management and will support the development and implementation of the new Goods & Services Supplier Relationship Management strategy at global level with a focus on GCC region. The role will involve understanding WFP's current and future needs for goods and services items in certain domains, delivering a range of supplier engagement activities, conducting market research and analysis with a focus on GCC suppliers, and effectively prioritizing supplier relationship management tasks while operating with minimal supervision.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

• Conduct market analyses to find the best-value suppliers, with a focus on the GCC/UAE region. • Assess market dynamics in the GCC/UAE region to enhance WFP's procurement of goods and services items. • Maintain and support the development of strategic supplier networks across the GCC to foster a robust supply chain. • Leverage local knowledge to enhance WFP's procurement of high-quality goods and services items within the UAE region and beyond. • Participate in relevant goods and services suppliers' events in the GCC region to expand WFP's network. • Contribute to tailored procurement strategies for the GCC/UAE market to increase the number of tenders received by WFP from local and regional goods and services suppliers. • Monitor global market trends and pricing, with a focus on the GCC/UAE region. • Stay updated on advancements in the GCC/UAE market to promote innovation in procurement practices. • Organize meetings between WFP colleagues and vendors to align goods and services solutions with WFP's procurement needs. • Fulfill any other duties as required to support WFP's objectives.

Position requirements:

• University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, International relations, or a related field. • Bilingual, proficiency in Arabic and English. • Driven and motivated by WFP's mandate, showcasing a commitment to humanitarian goals.
