What will you do in this position?

To handle receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities to maximize quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and to support the best storage management practices in compliance with WFP

warehouse standards and established guidelines. Provide supply chain guidance to farmers’ cooperatives and retailers in meeting food safety and quality covering the HGSF programme

How can you make a difference?

In this position, you will have to:

  1. Support the setup and preparation of schools and farmers cooperatives’ warehouses to receive and deliver locally produced food commodities for onward distribution to the beneficiaries.

  2. In coordination with the field office programme team, and adherence to acceptable documentation, receive and deliver all NFIs (Spoons, cooking pots, cups, plates etc.) to schools participating on the school meal programme in Nimba, Bong, and Maryland counties.

  3. Provide technical support to Selected farmers’ cooperatives and WFP’s supported schools in Nimba, Bong and Maryland counties in keeping with the agreed food safety and quality measures as per WFP’s standards.

  4. Effectively receive/dispatch commodities including transshipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes) ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities including the quality in compliance with the established standards.

  5. Reconcile all commodity vouchers redeemed by the schools’ authorities and verify actual commodity transported to the school by the cooperatives/commercial transporter through regular field visits.

  6. Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of the commodities received/dispatched and handled, detect promptly, and analyse reasons for stock discrepancies/damages, investigate missing quantity and prepare warehouse loss reports recommending appropriate solutions, to enable informed decision-making.

  7. Conduct daily warehouse closing reconciliation at the field office and coordinate with supported schools and farmers’ cooperatives monthly to ascertain their warehouse stock balances for planning purposes.

  8. Prepare, verify, and sign off warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements.

  9. Implement appropriate measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities, to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in line with WFP established procedures and authorization received from the supervisor.

  10. Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions, to support efficient warehouse space-planning and well-organized commodity storage following WFP warehouse standards.

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area will be an advantage.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

ď‚· Experience using logistics databases to extract routine reports.

ď‚· Experience in managing warehouses with food and NFIs.

ď‚· Experience in managing inventories.

ď‚· Experience in processing invoices.

ď‚· Minimum of four years of experience in a related field

Language: Fluency (level C) in English language.
