Statistician - Data Base Manager

Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the Peace and Development Advisor, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Support the Office of the Resident Coordinator in the development of a common data management and analysis platform for the UN System in Niger;
- Support the various teams of joint programs (Migration, Peacebuilding Fund and Spotlight) of the Office of the Resident Coordinator in the design of data collection tools, data codification, data management and support to data visualizations;
- Contribute to the development of the data collection tools using smart phones and other devices, remote data access to support surveys and data collection to measure progress towards achieving the SDG.
- Collect information and various relevant reports from United Nations agencies and various stakeholders at the national level, in order to inform the SDGs and feed into strategic reflections;
- Participate in meetings with United Nations System Agencies, civil society, research institutions, etc .; working in the field of statistics and data collection in Niger;
- Review statistics and support the development of periodic infographics.
- Create and regularly update a database on interventions covered by the RCO office in Niger, etc .;
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
Statistics, economics, IT Engineer or any other related discipline.
Required experience:
36 Months
Experience remark:
Technical knowledge combined with conceptual design. Technical specialist in the management of data base, interconnectivity and basic skills in analysis software would be highly beneficial to the post; statistical analysis tools; data visualization tools; Geographic Information System would be an asset.
Language skills:

Selection process
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. The selection will be done by the UN Host Entity at the level of the country of assignment. Interviews will be conducted by the UN Host Entity between 17 May and 4 June. Usually these interviews are competency-based.
