Org. Setting and Reporting The incumbent is responsible to Senior Staff Nurse and receives technical supervision from Field Nursing Services Officer and/or Area Nursing Services Officer (as applicable).

Responsibilities In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent: - Performs all nursing services, including maternal and child care, home visits, family planning, immunization, specialized clinics, health education and counseling; - Provides technical guidance in the electronic medical record system for staff in the assigned health centre, including training of staff , accuracy of entered data and the generation of reports; - Provides technical support to nursing staff and others in all matters related to infection control procedures; - Ensures the proper recording and reporting of health information from nursing staff under her/his supervision; - Provides technical support and guidance to practical nurses and midwives in the Family Health Team she/he is assigned to; - Under the supervision of the Senior Staff Nurse, controls and keeps records of equipment, uniforms, linen, sundries and other medical supplies needed for nursing activities; ensures their continued availability and supervises disposal of used items; - Supervises and maintains a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the health centre; - Conducts on-the-job training of staff and participates in the in-service courses as and when required; - Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Education - A University Degree in Nursing from a recognized university; - Possession of a license to practice nursing services.

Work Experience At least three years of satisfactory working experience in providing nursing services.

Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health applications.

Languages Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice Contract Type & Duration: Fixed-Term Appointment for 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

Conditions of service: - Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary from $1372.10; and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25. - Contract Duration: Three years including 1 year probation period. - Leave: 36 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with six-day working week. 30 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with five-day working week. - Pension: Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency) - Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.

Desirable Qualifications: - Diploma or certificate in midwifery or public health nursing; - Working experience in the provision of maternal and child health care.

Equivalency: When the minimum requirements are not fully met, Field Director for Field Area staff and Director of Human Resources for Headquarters Area staff, in consultation with the concerned supervisor may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience. NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination
