Result of Service - Consultant will create a project plan for the development and delivery of Team-Specific NY-based intervention to support returning to the workplace post-pandemic. This project plan will be updated based on millstones and shared with appropriate stakeholders. - Develop at least 1-2 new training workshops mental health promotion and brain health delivery. All training will include trainer speaking notes for ease of future delivery by different counsellors. - Update communication plans on COVID-19 including UN COVID Wellbeing page to reflect the global transition of the pandemic and workplace changes. - Write and article and create material related to art therapy (for direct delivery online). - At the end of each month, consultant will submit a progress report on work completed along with bill for payment.

Duties and Responsibilities The Staff Counsellor's Office (SCO) is part of the Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH), in the Department of Operational Support (DOS), and it is located on the UN Secretariat Building in New York HQ. Its mandate includes providing psychosocial support to staff members and managers, support the DHMOSH teams in managing the mental health cases and education for healthcare professionals provide psychoeducation and wellness activities for the New York based UNS staff.

The Staff Counsellors Office is seeking a short-term, NY-based consultant to start ASAP on the following tasks: (i) provide additional counselling support to the office for NYHQ mental health support (ii) Provide support to UN staff in relation to mental health (iii) create and deliver new psychosocial and mental health related educational workshops and activities (iv) Support SCO communication strategy as related to psychosocial well-being and mental health. Expected tasks are listed below: 1. Review the up-to-date literature for evidence-based interventions related to early identification of mental health promotion including Resilience Building and Brain Fitness. 2. Provide grief counselling and support to UNS personnel who are experiencing pandemic related losses (loved ones, lifestyle changes, and other pandemic related stressors). 3. Deliver SCO training workshops as needed. 4. Provide support to the HR Officers, Field Support Group, Managers, UN healthcare workers, etc. related to stress management & mental health promotion. 5. Provide online support groups to UNS staff related to the psychosocial stressors of pandemic, return to office, etc. 6. Assist with the creation of behavioral focused communication planning for ongoing response and post- COVID-19 response as needed. 7. Support SCO and DHMOSH teams with communication strategy as it related to incorporating psychosocial wellbeing and mental health through iSeek articles, brochures, and educational materials, drafting memos, announcements, (including translation if relevant), etc. 8. Create mental health promotional materials including handouts, videos, training materials and creative outreach tools. 9. Design and delivery Art Therapy sessions to help UN Personnel adjust to current changes in the workplace and outside stressors.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, or Mental health related field. Art based therapy training is required; certification in creative arts-based therapy such as Art Therapy is an asset. Experience: At least 5 years of prior work experience in psychology or mental health field required. Experience working in medical setting of international organizations is an asset. Experiencing working as an Art Therapist in a multicultural client base is an asset. Language: English is required.
