Type of Contract: Special Service Agreement (SSA) Location: New Delhi, India Duration of Contract: Six Months Reporting to: Gender & Inclusion Officer, New Delhi Number of positions: 1

JOB PURPOSE

To support food security and nutrition data analyses around gender and inclusion. The consultant will be based in the WFP Country Office in New Delhi, under the direct supervision of the Gender Officer. She/he will complete the assigned tasks in consultation with the supervisor and may be required to liaise with colleagues in other units and partners in other agencies. She/he may also be required to travel to WFP field offices or project field sites.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Study on gender dynamics of household food distribution and consumption in UP a. Using analysed data, prepare dissemination products for various audiences. b. Support the organization of dissemination events. c. Support any follow-up activity (advocacy).

2. Assessment of food security and nutrition of tribal populations in Rajasthan from gender and inclusion perspective a. Support the data analysis b. Design and draft dissemination products. c. Support the organization of dissemination events. d. Support any follow-up activity as required

3. Support to Mission Shakti on empowerment of Women’s SHGs a. Support in conducting empowerment trainings. b. Support in finalizing information, education and communication (IEC) materials c. Support in documentation and analysis as required

4. Other responsibilities a. Provide background notes and data as required for preparation of documents b. Facilitate organization of trainings, meetings and learning sessions on gender and related fields. c. Participate in the UN inter-agency gender thematic group meetings and support in related activities. d. Support in any other tasks assigned to the Gender Officer.

• The position holder should possess strong technical and analytical skills, and the ability to design and execute plans. • S/he should demonstrate passion and motivation with the ability to manage multiple tasks with commitment to deliver against multiple, tight deadlines at work. • S/he should be an excellent team player with an ability to work collaboratively, share information and build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds while focusing on impact and results. • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation and documentation skills are required. • Knowledge of India’s national food security and nutrition programmes is also critical for this position.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualification: First level university degree (Graduation) in the area of Food security / Social Science /Development Economics / Applied economics / Geography / Demography or related disciplines.

Experience: At least 6 years’ of experience in designing and executing field-based research studies and/or programme implementation on gender, food security, nutrition, public health and related issues. Published research work as reports, papers in refereed journals and chapters in books, books to demonstrate analytical and writing skills. Knowledge and hands-on experience in statistical analysis of both primary and secondary data using SPSS/STATA or similar software. Knowledge and experience of data visualization software (Tableau) and mapping (ArcGIS, QGIS and related software) is desirable.

Language : Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi.

Mode of Engagement: The salary for this position is INR 98,492/- per month (depending upon the last drawn remuneration of the candidate), plus medical benefits as per WFP's plan. All tax liability for payments from this contract are to be borne by the subscriber.
