Scope of work:

We are looking for a Sr. Finance Officer (Partnerships) who will report to the Senior Finance Manager and support the Finance Department's growing and strengthening partner financial management. The job holder will work closely with Partners and other departments within IRC to ensure activities implemented by partners are thoroughly reported, and financial reporting is in compliance with donors.

Key responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities within each functional area are as follows:

Microsoft 365 System / General Ledger Processing

· Assist in the country's financial monthly closing process in regard to partnerships.

· Prepare Journal Entries for Sub-grantee transactions.

Financial Management and Monitoring of Sub-grants

· Liaise with Program and Grant to ensure timely submission of reports, payment of sub-award advances, and periodic payments.

· Prepare reconciliation of sub-grant advances, reimbursement, and updated sub-grant schedule.

· Review of sub-grantees’ financial reports.

· Conduct post-award monitoring visits to selected sub-grantees.

· Provide training on sub-grant financial review and monitoring.

· Represent Finance team in all Sub-Grant working group meetings and initiatives along with program, operation, and grants teams.

Qualifications:

· BA or equivalent experience from a recognized College/Institution in Accounting/ Finance fields. Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word.

· Minimum of 3 years in accounting/finance, preferably in NGO environments.

· Prior knowledge of an accounting package will be an added advantage.

· Good understanding of regulations of EU-funded projects; experience with other donors will also be considered an advantage.

· Must function comfortably in a complex work environment, working and prioritizing multiple tasks.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in written and spoken English.

· Attention to detail.

· Good interpersonal skills. Ability to independently coordinate work, prioritize tasks, and handle time.
