Assist with logistics and administrative tasks for refugee housing

You have:

  • Must pass a background check
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months
  • Submit intern hours on volunteer dashboard

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Housing Intern will assist the Logistics Supervisor with the following tasks:

- Logistics assistance:

- Assist with essential logistics tasks related to refugee/parolee arrivals. This includes procuring or coordinating food, housing supplies, phones, internet service, transporting clients, communicating with external partners, and more.

- Move-in assistance:

- Work with volunteers to move furniture and supplies into a unit, set up the unit, transport clients, or oversee lease signings, etc.

- Organization/Administrative Assistance:

- Help build and manage internal systems, write case notes, work on case file management, file receipts, credit card transactions, fill out applications, etc.

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Excellent communication and writing skills

- Second language ability preferred

- Organized with attention to detail

- Able to work independently and under pressure

- An interest in international issues

- Strong desire to help people and enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural setting.

- Computer literacy – preferably with PC systems

- Valid driver’s license, reliable access to an insured vehicle.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must pass a background check

This will be an in-person role.

This position will report to the Logistics Supervisor.
