Assist with fundraising and donor outreach activities.
You have:
- Must submit intern hours on volunteer portal.
- Must pass a background check.
- Commitment of 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Provide data collection and research including tracking all forms of funding sources; - Draft written materials for internal and external communications and prepare mass mailings; - Assist with updating and maintaining IRC donor database; - Research potential major donor prospects and assist with donor outreach and cultivation; - Provide direct service to refugee clients as needed by the Volunteer Coordinator; - Assist with other Resource Development needs such as donor management, external communications, and fundraising; - Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and special staff development programs; - Submit intern hours on volunteer dashboard; - Other duties as assigned
Qualifications - An interest in international and refugee issues; - Effective communication and writing skills; - Strong attention to detail; - Excellent organizational skills; - Creativity and initiative to follow through on projects; - A strong desire to help people and enthusiasm to work in a multi-cultural setting; - Prior experience in a non-profit setting a plus; - Prior relevant coursework preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel

Please note that we are unable to provide sponsorship for a US work authorization.
This is an in-person role. This role will report to the Development Specialist.
The internship will be filled on a rolling basis. We will continue to accept applications until December 2, 2024, or until the position is filled, whichever occurs first. Internship will begin the week of January 20th, 2025.
