Why we are recruiting

The People & Culture team aims to attract, engage, nurture and retain the most motivated, diverse and purpose-driven Forum talent. The People & Culture Specialist, as a member of the China team as well as the People & Culture team, will support Forum talent acquisition in this endeavour.

We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial people and culture professional who will be responsible for attracting and engaging highly skilled talent in China market as primary.

This position is based out of the Forum’s office in Beijing.

Reporting lines and interactions

You will report to the People & Culture Lead in China and to the Head of Talent Acquisition in Geneva. You will partner with the business on talent acquisition related matters and be responsible for delivering stellar candidate experience to both internal and external Talent.

Responsibilities include

Sourcing and recruiting

  • Contribute to the execution and localisation of the Global TA strategy to ensure the timely hiring of high-quality talents
  • Manage end-to-end recruiting process for assigned job openings, including preparing the hiring alignment meeting, job posting, active sourcing, screening, interview and offer discussion.
  • Engage with colleagues involved in the interview process to strengthen the interviewing capability to promote global interviewing standards and reinforce collaborative hiring.
  • Engage with colleagues to ensure global principles of diversity and inclusion are integrated throughout the recruitment cycle and internal mobility
  • Develop Talent Pools for recurring needs and guarantee optimal candidate relationship management to ensure Talent is ready to engage with the forum at any time.
  • Develop effective regional sourcing channels and strategies, thinking beyond traditional sourcing channels.

Employer branding & marketing

  • Contribute to the application of the global employer branding activity and marketing efforts and ensure these are localised to meet China recruitment needs.
  • Contribute to university strategic partnership strategies to enable the attraction and selection of the top diverse talent from across schools and universities, and meeting our local market focus area needs

HR support

  • Roll out onboarding programmes to help newcomers integrate into the Forum, including key training in systems and tools, culture, processes, etc.
  • Support P&C transaction activities and ensure all information is safeguarded and kept confidential.
  • Keep up-to-date and bring in best practices with regards to assessments, manager training, sourcing, engagement, to promote optimal candidate experience and to enable business success at the Forum

The successful candidate will be assessed on

  • The Hiring/Line Managers that you have worked with would describe you as a trusted talent partner
  • Ensuring timely and quality hiring of exceptional candidates
  • Knowledge of talent market intelligence, acting as a talent adviser to hiring managers for information which impact attracting competitive candidates
  • Proficiency in the use of Forum digital and social media tools for broadening access to candidates
  • Strengthening the brand of the Forum and increasing visibility as an employer of choice in China
  • Ensuring a high-quality and informative experience as employees integrate into the Forum
  • Proactively assessing and identifying areas for optimization and alignment throughout the Forum across the recruitment lifecycle
  • Ability to build bridges between the Beijing office with the rest of the organization, including the Geneva the US offices, and other Asia offices

Preferred requirements and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g. human resources, psychology, social sciences, business administration)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in recruitment, particularly in a multinational organization
  • Prior experience as an external recruiter and expertise in other HR areas (talent development, HR policy, compensation) is a plus
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin in speaking and written
  • Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable and efficient with a strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated customer-focus and ability to leverage relationships throughout the organization to influence individuals and outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and independently, and being agile when it comes to competing priorities
  • Highly collaborative and good people sensitivity
  • Good ability to handle confidential/sensitive information in a tactful and diplomatic manner
  • Strong computer skills with a proficiency (intermediate level at minimum) in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
