Job description

The Global Energy Transformation Programme (GET.pro) is a multi-donor platform bundling European forces in order to scale-up action on international energy and climate goals. It does so in a Team Europe approach via four distinct instruments: mobilising private investments in clean energy for bankable projects (GET.invest), assisting public partners in advancing their energy sector transformation towards bankable frameworks (GET.transform), fostering the strategic energy dialogue between Africa and Europe in a fair partnership (Secretariat of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership), and boosting climate resilience for growing cities in Sub Saharan Africa (Covenant of Mayors).

These instruments are backed by the Programme Support Unit which performs centralised tasks, amongst others programme- and finance management, as well as monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

GET.pro acts in a dynamic political environment and is funded by the European Union, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and Austria.

Your tasks

  • Support the development and operation of a coherent, results-oriented M&E system for GET.pro as an aggregation of the M&E tools of its individual instruments
  • Preparation of progress and final reports to the multiple donors of GET.pro in German and English
  • Coordination of M&E processes within GET.pro including facilitating data collection and other M&E-related measures of individual instruments (particularly the AEEP Secretariat)
  • Harmonization and quality assurance of log frames and indicators for proposals to GET.pro donors
  • Development and steering of an overarching safeguards and gender mainstreaming system of GET.pro
  • Contribute to additional cross-cutting programme management functions within the realm of contract and portfolio management (e.g. procedures and standards for country measures, preparation of co-financing contracts, etc.)

Your profile

  • University degree or equivalent in social or political science, European studies, or in another subject area relevant for the position
  • Proven professional experience in applying quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection or results-oriented reporting, ideally in multi-donor development cooperation programmes (GIZ, EU or other)
  • Very good knowledge of the requirements, standards and processes of results-oriented M&E and gender mainstreaming in development cooperation projects
  • A good knowledge of energy in development cooperation with a particular geographic focus on Africa is preferred
  • Excellent writing skills and proven ability to communicate complex processes in a clear and comprehensive manner
  • Team player attitude and coordination skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particular Word and Excel; experience with digital monitoring tools or graphic software is an asset
  • Mastery language skills in English (C2) and German (C2)
