Job description

Information security is of the utmost importance for GIZ in order to adequately and effectively ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of its information. This not only protects the company and our employees, but also our partners - in the long term a key competitive factor with our clients. GIZ will therefore set up a global information security management system (ISMS) by 2026, comprising not only the German locations, but all country and regional offices worldwide and around 1.500 project offices. With an ambitious timetable for the certification steps, this company-wide process is being carried out via a project that will be continued as Large Scale Solution (LSS) from 2022. The LSS team will design, steer and regularly adjust the company-wide transformation and is seeking for support in the following tasks.

Your tasks

• Conceptual, technical, and organizational support in setting up a global information security management system
• Participation in the definition of information security standards for the GIZ implementation structure worldwide
• Cooperation with external consultants in the certification team for the GIZ implementation structure/operational units
• Participation in project planning, identification and implementation of the necessary measures according to ISO 27001 native
• Technical support for the Information Security Officers in the GIZ country and regional offices with regard to the ISMS introduction
• Advice and support in preparing the documents required for certification
• Participation in the design and implementation of measures to raise awareness among GIZ employees regarding information security

Your profile

• Completed studies in information security, computer science or comparable training and professional experience
• Several years of professional experience in information security management and ISMS implementation
• Knowledge of the application and certification of ISO 27001
• Consulting and/or change management experience
• Experience in public or politically affiliated companies is an advantage
• International project experience
• High level of intercultural sensitivity and communication skills
• Proficient in German and English; Knowledge of another language is an advantage e.g. French, Arabic, Spanish

This job is suited to a full or a part-time position.

The willingness for frequent business trips is required.

The willingness to work reciprocally abroad and in Germany is required.
