Organizational Setting

UTF/BRA/089/BRA To contribute to the consolidation of the productive and socioeconomic organization of family farming in Brazil, through the implementation of innovative and priority actions in the formulation of national public policies.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil - Programme

Technical Focus

Provide technical support to the Ministry of Rural Development and Family Agriculture in mapping and analyzing the feasibility of developing instruments and opportunities for international cooperation aimed at enhancing its performance in activities related to the strengthening of Family Agriculture..

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Participate in meetings with CGACT/SE whenever requested for guidance and alignment of the content of the products; • Participate in meetings, seminars, thematic meetings, and follow the actions developed by institutions of interest to identify demands and opportunities for cooperation; • Conduct technical visits to MDA units (Office, Executive Secretariat – SE, Family Agriculture Secretariat – SAF, Secretariat of Supply, Cooperativism, and Food Sovereignty – SEAB, Secretariat of Territories and Productive Systems for Quilombolas and Traditional Peoples – SETEQ, Secretariat of Land Governance, Territorial Development, and Socioenvironmental – SFDT, Subsecretariat for Rural Women – SMR) to gather information for the preparation of contracted products; • Accompany the CGACT and International Advisory team in internal and external meetings when opportune to gather information for the preparation of contracted products; • Identify and systematize data on funds and other funding partners (governmental or not) in areas of interest to MDA, as well as analyze the mechanisms for accessing them and their potential for family agriculture; • Participate in meetings of the 09 committees of REAF to identify possible demands related to training methodologies, exchange of experiences, and/or knowledge transfer on non-commercial bases for family farmers; • Research, systematize, and present technical support on the feasibility of demands and opportunities for international cooperation for the development of initiatives to strengthen Family Agriculture.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Sciences or Agricultural Sciences or Specialization or Master’s Degree or Ph.D., according to the table of knowledge areas of CAPES/CNPq • In case of having a Bachelor’s degree, at least of 08 (eight) years of experience in international cooperation, foreign investments, market access and productive inclusion. In case of having specialization and 06 (six) years of experience in the requested areas. In case of having Master's degree and 05 (five) years of experience in the requested areas and in case of having a Ph.D. and 03 (three) years of experience in the requested areas. • Working knowledge (level C) of Portuguese and English or Spanish; • Brazilian Nationality or other legally authorized to work in Brazil.
