Overview

Develop detailed HPMP Stage II project documents for Cote d'Ivoire and Burundi

You have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
  • Knowledge of technical issues of ozone depleting substances, experience in the implementation of Montreal Protocol activities, and experience in data collection, review and management at the national level regarding HCFCs or related substances is an added advantage.
  • Fluency in oral and written English and French is required.
  • Working knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Result of Service The ultimate result of the consultancy is a detailed, final high quality and comprehensive HPMP Stage II project for each of the two countries produced according to the prescribed format and guidelines, ready for the countries to submit to the Executive Committee for approval.

Duties and Responsibilities UNEP OzonAction seeks to engage the services of a consultant to assist in the development, finalization, and submission of the HPMP Stage II project documents for Cote dIvoire and Burundi. Accordingly, UNEP requires a consultant to provide technical assistance to the National Ozone Units of Burundi and Cote dIvoire. During the assignment, the consultant will work under the supervision of the Regional Network Coordinator of Francophone Network of Ozone Officers, Mr Yamar Guisse. The consultant will undertake the following tasks in close consultation with the Montreal Protocol Regional Coordinator 1. Draft work plan for drafting and finalizing of HPMP Stage II projects for Burundi, and Côte d’Ivoire. 2. Submission of draft HPMP Stage II project documents for Burundi, and Côte d’Ivoire for review and comments. 3. Finalize and submit draft HPMP Stage II to UNEP with consideration of the comments received from UNEP and from the countries. 4. Provide information to UNEP as requested from the Montreal Protocol Multilateral Fund Secretariat during the review process. The consultant will revise the HPMP Stage II project documents in consultation with the respective National Ozone Officers based on comments, if any, received from the Multilateral Fund Secretariat.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in oral and written English and French is required. Working knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
