WWF-Myanmar is now inviting applications from a Specialist for developing curriculum unit to pilot an eco-learning programme tailored for young people in Ayeyarwady’s Delta with Home-based travel to/within Ayeyarwady, Myanmar for 4.5 months.

Objectives The main objective is to develop environmental learning curriculums focused on climate change adaptation and climate related disaster risk reduction, relevant to the mangrove landscapes and that resonates with children and youth, which can easily be adapted and used by community educators. As a pilot, this proposed curriculum will focus on matters relevant to children aged 8 to 14 years old living in the Delta – mangrove conservation and climate change adaptation. A needs assessment must be completed before developing the curriculum. The curriculum is initially drafted in English and then translated into Myanmar, following an assessment by youth, local community partners, and community facilitators.

Overarching Project Goal and Outcome: The overall goal is to invest in current and future generations to lead change in habitat protection and disaster risk reduction (DRR). The curriculum will be relevant and applicable to children and youth populations across Myanmar. The project will be implemented in Myanmar’s Delta (in Ayeyarwady Region).

The following outcome need to be met to reach the goal: Outcome: Children and youth in the Delta are better equipped with the knowledge needed to lead and drive change on matters of uniqueness and productivity of Delta ecosystems leading to food.
