Overview

You have:

  • High School Certificate is required.
  • Certificate in Zumba / Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience from a reputable organization/setting is required in teaching various fitness classes.
  • Qualifications and knowledge of fitness and products and equipment is required.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa and the respective office of the Secretary-General. UNON supports program implementation of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Program UNHABITAT) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing administrative, conference and information services (www.unon.org). This post is in the office of United Nations Office at Nairobi, Central Support Services (CSS), Commercial Operations Unit (COU). Under the supervision of the Unit Chief, Sanjita Sehmi.The incumbent provides specialized support services to help ensure the smooth functioning of the UN Wellness Centre. The UN Wellness Centre (UNWC) is open for membership to UN staff members and the diplomatic community. The UNWC has over the years recognized the need to keep pace with the growing sophistication and demands of members, so it offers a sports facility that meets their fitness and health goals. The facility has a state-of-the-art gym, with separate cardio as well as weights section and is equipped with Technogym machines. All the equipment is of the highest quality, well designed ergonomically and bio-mechanically precise. UNWC is seeking for instructors to provide professional Zumba / Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Tae-Kwando, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapu Ela, Barre, Aqua Aerobics, TaiChi and other creative Wellness classes and programs designed to the needs of United Nations Wellness Centre (UNWC) members and guests. The incumbent works towards creating excellence in the fitness center reporting directly to UNWC Manager. Responsibilities will include. • The instructors will be teaching special classes like Zumba / Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics and or any other Wellness classes. • The instructor works towards creating excellence in the Fitness Centre reporting directly to the UNWC Manager • Responsible for preparing the indoor/outdoor space prior to the class, by ensuring the space is ready/equipped and suitable for use by the clients • Promoting fitness classes to both members and non-members for purposes of increasing or sustaining membership • Have a client database or profile in his record for purposes of reference. • Advice clients on health and fitness related matters. • Perform other related duties as required. Events Facilitation: • Plan, organize, and facilitate fitness-related events, workshops, and wellness activities. • Coordinate with the events team to manage logistics and event promotion. • Assist in developing marketing materials, schedules, and event content that engage and inspire clients. • Collaborate with the event team to ensure successful event execution. • Gather feedback from participants to improve future events and fitness programs

Qualifications/special skills

High School Certificate is required. Certificate in Zumba / Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics is required. A minimum of 2 years' experience from a reputable organization/setting is required in teaching Zumba / Aqua Zumba, Salsa, Rhumba, Yoga, Spin, Taekwondo, Pilates, Aerobics, Cross-fit, Acapella, Barre, Aqua Aerobics. Qualifications and knowledge of fitness and products and equipment is required.
