TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• This vacancy is open to Indian National only. • This vacancy is open to internal and external candidates. • Only candidates under serious consideration will be contacted. • A Written test will be used for Screening Candidates. • Only recommended candidates will be retained on roaster for a period of two years and may be considered for similar positions from roaster. • The Starting Remuenueration for this position will be 261,771/- INR Per Month, which will be decided based on relevant experience & qualification. All tax liability for payments from this contract are to be borne by the subscriber.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive) Under the direct supervision of the Country Director, the SSTC Expert will be responsible for taking forward WFP’s SSTC India Strategy which will involve undertaking the following activities including:

• Collaborate with all relevant Government partners such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Farmer Welfare, NITI Aayog, Department of Food and Public Distribution and departments in the States for SSTC work. • Facilitate concrete SSTC activities such as study missions and learning workshops in collaboration with WFP’s technical units. • Contribute in establishing a systemic approach to the SSTC activities to the extent possible, to make the SSTC activities efficient and effective. • Manage the compilation of best practices and dissemination of these across the WFP network for cross learning. • Liaise with WFP HQ and Regional Bureau to contribute to the corporate SSTC policy and implementation plan. • Establish and maintain operational partnerships with the UN country team on joint SSTC work. • Manage and contribute to the creation of a Knowledge Hub for food and nutrition security/social protection. • Contribute to leverage and expand WFP’s partnerships with universities and think tanks for SSTC goals. • Manage operational research and evidence building through mapping and analysis e.g. of SSTC recipient countries in collaboration with key partners.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION Advanced University degree in Development Studies, Development Management, South South Cooperation or International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance or first university degree with additional years of experience.

EXPERIENCE • Minimum 5 years of postgraduate professional work experience in policy design and Development Cooperation & South South Cooperation. • Proven experience and expertise in engaging with government, private sector and multilateral/ bilateral entities across the world especially in Asia and Africa and capacity to draft high quality policy documents. • Work experience in implementing technical programme/ projects in the related field and provided inputs on the policy discussions. Demonstrated international experience in desirable. • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across countries independently with minimum support and facilitation is expected from the position.

LANGUAGES Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
